Sony Xperia C: value for your money

Sony Xperia C: value for your money

Sony India  launched its Xperia C phablet, this beautiful phablet or Smartphone is very good blend of style and features which is Sony always provide their costumer with. This phone runs on  Android 4.2 jelly bean with 5 inch TFT Capacitive Touch screen with a  960 x 540 Pixels of resolution and packed with Mobile Bravia engine, it also comes with dual-sim functionality and a  1.2 GHz MTK6589 quad-core processor. The primary camera is of 8 MP and VGA secondary camera. Generally price of Sony Smartphone are bit higher in comparison to other Smartphone giants but this time Sony priced this phone beautifully at around RS 18k, exact price depends from where you are buying the phone.

BODY AND DESIGN:

The Xperia C's design carries legacy of  Sony  forward with its signature rectangular shape and a curved back . Sony Xperia c is available in white, black, and purple, the phone's  build quality feels premium. The dimensions of Xperia C is 141.5 x 74.15 x 8.88 mm and weighs decent 153 grams. it borrows design  from its high end Xperia siblings,  metal power / lock button which is located half way down on the right side with  a volume rocker and dedicated camera button and on left side you can see the micro usb port . On the top 3.5 mm jack is located. In the front you will find the Sony logo, front VGA camera and different sensors. On the back there is 8 MP AF camera with flash and loudspeaker in the bottom.  The Smartphone's back panel is removable, where is dual-SIM and microSD card slots. The phone has a removable back cover but the battery is non-removable. Overall design is good and feel comfortable, you will not face any problem with single hand operations.

DISPLAY:

The Sony Xperia C features a 5-inch TFT display with a qHD resolution of 540x960 pixels, and pixel density is only 220ppi which looks okay. The resolution and pixel density of the Xperia C is comparatively lower than some of its competitors in a similar price segment, like the Micromax Canvas Turbo and Spice Pinnacle FHD, with full-HD displays. The viewing angles on the Smartphone are not good, and when you tilt the phone, you can see colours losing their saturation. Overall performance of display is nice and you will not face any such issues when playing videos or viewing pictures.

Performance and Battery Life:

The Sony Xperia C is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz MediaTek 6589  processor coupled with a PowerVR SGX544 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. The processor found on the Xperia C is the same used by a variety of Indian Smartphone brands, such as Micromax, Karbonn, Spice and Xolo, etc.
The Xperia C includes 4GB of inbuilt storage, out of which only 1.20GB is user-accessible, but thankfully the Xperia C supports microSD card up to 32GB so no issues with memory.
You will encountered no lags while doing multi tasking on the Xperia C or in gaming, games like "asphalt 8:airborne" running smooth on this device. the phone feels smooth  all day long. Call quality on the Xperia C was good on both the SIM networks. The Sony Xperia C is a dual-SIM(GSM+GSM) phone with support for 3G network for one sim card only. Dual sim dual standby feature is also given, which implies that if you're on a call on SIM 1 and get another call on SIM 2, you'll be notified of the call from the second sim.
The Sony Xperia C is powered by 2390mAh non-removable battery that according to the company can deliver up to 588 hours of standby time, and up to 14 hours of talktime on 2G networks.i used this phone for a day and battery backup is ok for normal day to day activities and battery stands upto 18 hrs and on heavy usage can deliver upto 12-14 hrs of battery backup. Which is very good as compare to other smart phones available in the market which only comes with 12 -14 hrs battery on normal usage and around 10 hrs on heavy usage on full charge.

Final words:

According to me this is a very good package in terms of hardware and software and is value for money. Nice 5 inch display good battery life, nice UI, overall great deal to go for. There are also many  phones available in the market in this price segment like from micromax, lava or xolo which may prove better option but above all SONY 's  after sales services in India is very good you will find a service centre in your locality or nearby, personally I feel you must invest in a brand which offer you a great deal before buying a cell phone and also after buying a cell phone.
