PROJECT NORMANDY=NOKIA X
There's a nice fusion of Android familiarity and Windows Phone functionality.
nokia x isnt the triumphant entrance into the android platform many of us would have hoped for..
It is kind of like wedding adage:something old, something new, somethung borrOwed, something blue.here the phone makrs borrows, bends, and recombines elements ofandroid, windows, and nokia's own asha os a response to a particularly sticky conundrum..Nokia’s much-awaited Android-based ‘Nokia X’ smartphone will be available in India from 15 March, as the Finnish firm takes head-on the likes of Samsung and Micromax to grab a share of the burgeoning affordable smartphone market.
The Finnish firm, whose handset business was bought by Microsoft last year, had unveiled its Nokia X range of smartphones—X, X+ and XL—powered by Google’s Android operating system at the Mobile World Congress on 24 February.
it looks almost identical to the brightly coloured polycarbonate Lumia’s we’ve come to know and love.
The live tiles idea is really cool – it's essentially just a clever way of doing Android widgets, but while other launchers can make things look too complex, Nokia is doing things its own way and making it all seem a lot cooler.
The Nokia X is a mid-tier smartphone developed by Nokia.
The Nokia X runs a modified (forked) version of Android, referred as the Nokia X software platform. The device shipped on the same day as the unveiling, with Nokia targeting the product for emerging markets.
within seconds of holding the nokia x for ourselves, we knew that this was off to a good start. The device feels solid, with a build quality similar to much more expensive handsets.
Customization was also a big deal with the nokia x. That's something else that the nokia has inherited. The back cover can be snapped off and replaced with a range of other hues, such as the black, and yellow you can see in our gallery.
As is the fashion these days, there are flip covers, too, if you'd prefer to keep that display safe from harm..
an intelligent and intuitive experience that constantly adapts to your needs. Every feature, every gesture, and every detail is designed with you in mind.
Zero skinning, no default widgets, nothing. This is good news, and almost certainly adds to the pleasantly responsive UI.
Considering this is nokia's first international device since microsoft swallowed it, the nokia x is more about taking on the budget market. It's made an aggressive play that shows low-price doesn't have to mean low-spec. Typically cheaper lines, such as Nokia's Asha phones, or Samsung's vast collection of "other" Android phones offer value in direct relation to functional trade off
As per the Nokia webiste, Nokia X also introduces to an all-new customisable home screen in which one can customise as per requirement. Resize and rearrange apps with resizable tiles, group apps into folders and get Android widgets for the things that a user may require frequently.
The phones are not pure Android phones but run a variant of Android. Nokia has taken the open-source elements of Android and added elements of Asha and Microsoft’s Windows Phone to offer its users a different experienc
One of the most fascinating reveals following the Microsoft-Nokia acquisition saga was the existence of the Nokia X Android line of smartphones. Nokia’s first substantial non-Windows Phone product may have been a major contributing factor in pushing the acquisition through, but Microsoft hasn’t yet been able to quash the Nokia X line at the source. As the deal has yet to be finalized, Nokia has taken this opportunity to introduce the Android phones to the public at Mobile World Congress this week.
