Samsung has finally launched its most awaited phone and this phone feels innovative. Seriously, Nothing comes close to the galaxy 8 design and the features it is loaded with. You will also get the features such as Iris scanner, fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate and SpO2. So now, let's talk about the phone in detail and its specs.



DISPLAY

The new Samsung galaxy s8 has Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colours
and size of 5.8 inches (~83.6% screen-to-body ratio)
The resolution of this beast is 1440 x 2960 pixels (~570 PPI pixel density) and the display is really amazing. Also, it comes with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to avoid any physical damage. Some more features include:

- Always-on display
- TouchWiz UI

The new Samsung galaxy s8 comes with Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Exynos 8895 Octa - EMEA chipset, which is no doubt a powerful processor. So at last, we can conclude that Samsung galaxy has made new software enhancements like Bixby (virtual assistant) and moreover there are enough features to satisfy the requirement of the user and not forget the iris scanning makes it the best android mobile of 2017.
Also as mentioned,  it has Mobile HDR Premium certification by the UHD alliance.

Disappointment is what came out from the camp of samsung in 2014 mobile world congress, Barcelona. Everybody from the globe is watching for samsung, that there will be something new in samsung galaxy S5 but samsung you are showing lack of innovation with your every new flagship device. If you like xpreia z series,iphone 5s, and samsung galaxy series and you dont want to  spend on all of them then this phone is for you. Samsung took fingerprint scanner  from  iphone 5S, dust poof and water proof feature from xperia Z1, and as always 0%  innovation in design, it is a blend of note 3 and galaxy s4. The samsung galaxy S5 will be launched on 11 April globally.

DESIGN:
 

In terms of design this the  least innovative phone from the Korean giant, it is hard  to predict the difference between the galaxy S5 & galaxy S4 from the front especially. The galaxy S5 comes with 5.1-inch super AMOLED screen, which is the Full HD (1920×1080). The phone is also water and dust resistant with IP67 certification. The dimensions of galaxy s5 are 142 x 72.5 x 8.1mm and only 145gm heavy.
 Samsung’s trademark home button placed below the screen as always, but now which comes with the ability of fingerprint scanner. To use scanner user must swipe his/her finger on the home button unlike APPLE'S IPHONE 5S. Fingerprint scanner includes features like unlocking the phone, PayPal payments, and to open few secrete files you don’t want anyone else to see. The implementation of fingerprint scanner is very smooth and show no sign of lag.
With the new galaxy S flagship samsung change the slippery and glossy plastic back with the faux leather with  dimples on it that feels great and provide good grip in the hand which is much needed for phone of these sizes. It comes with many colour options in back panel like black, white, blue and gold. There is no significant change in overall design but with few small changes it now look better. But it's time that samsung works on its design department as this is their 5th generation galaxy device and no one wants the same design in GALAXY S6.

HARDWARE:
 

First take a look @ screen, it comes with 5.1 inch super AMOLED fullHD screen. The pixel deensity is slightly lower which is "432 ppi" than galaxy S4 which is "441 ppi" everybody was expecting a 2k display but not this time.
Internally  the Galaxy S5 is equipped with the latest, most powerful and fastest available  2.5GHz Snapdragon 801quad core processor and 2GB of ram, to assure the "no lag" performance. To maintain overall performance of the device it comes with 2,800 mAh battery. There is also an increase in shooter from the previous galaxy S4 device which comes with 13 MP rear camera, galaxy S5 comes with  a 16-megapixel rear camera with features like fast autofocus and enhanced HDR photography. It can also record and play video @4k(3840x2160) resolution. Front facing camera is of 2.1 MP.. It comes with internal storage of 16GB(11GB user available) and expandable up to 128GB.

FINGERPRINT SCANNER

The new galaxy S5 comes with latest android kitkat 4.4.2. The Galaxy S5 features new and improved version of Samsung’s famous Nature UX skin or  TouchWiz UI. As there is significant change in the UI ,  in some areas there are few changes. Which include redesigned  notifications menu which is quite similar to the Samsung’s new PRO line of tablets. Icons are flatter and round which looks pretty good, some apps including S Health, Gear Manager and recent apps screen has been given a makeover.
The new galaxy S5 also comes with a heart rate monitoring device called "heart rate sensor" which combine with the app called S HEALTH, and monitor your fitness. It also sports a feature called download booster which combine you WI-FI speed and 3G or 4G speed to give you maximum possible speed.

VERDICT:
 

According to me this phone deserve mixed verdict
 
1. It is no doubt a really very good phone though it lacks innovation in terms of design , but still it will be the most powerful device after its launch. So if you can afford you can buy this. This is an all in one package, you will get features of all top of the line handset  in one, like fingerprint scanner, water-dust resistant etc.
 
2. secondly if you are not a Samsung fan boy and innovation, design like things bother  you,  wait for Sony Z2 or buy apple 5s.

SAMSUNG'S GALAXY ROUND QUICK VIEW: not that round as you think

FIRSTLOOK: 

The new flagship device GALAXY ROUND from Samsung which sport a flexible display launched with so much of buzz around it. First of all I want to mention that phone isn't flexible, the screen is but unfortunately you cannot change the shape of the screen. The phone at first sight looks like GALAXY NOTE 3 with same 5.7 inch display & same plastic leather finish at back, but you will feel difference when it comes in your hand or you take a side view. As its name suggest it's not that round but only little bit curvy along the length unlike its rival LG G FLEX which is more like a concave design.

BODY AND DISPLAY:

As told galaxy round looks similar to note 3 except the curve same body design rear, front and same button placements. It will take some time but you will feel comfortable using this device,  you will definitely enjoy the new feel in your hand. This phone is also easy to carry as its fits comfortably in your pocket because of its curvy design and you can also sit comfortably with this massive phone.

 Most important thing to discuss is the screen. What are the pros and cons of curved screen ? as you take a closer look  you will feel no difference in Watching movies, playing games, and viewing video on the galaxy Round's 5.7-inch 1080p HD AMOLED display and other flat screen smart phone devices. Video quality is also same as of NOTE 3.you have to do some adjustments for playing games like temple run and subway surfer on the curved surface of galaxy round.
You may also experience some typing mistakes on the Galaxy Round, but as you become familiar to the screen it will not take much time to adjust.

HARDWARE:

 The GALAXY ROUND equipped with  2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 -MSM 8974  processor fastest processor found these days on any smart phones or phablets with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of  RAM. It comes with 32GB of in-built memory and expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot. With specs like this and massive 3 GB of RAM no doubt phone deliver excellent performance.
Galaxy  Round comes with the same good 13-megapixel camera with flash which is same as of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 and front 2 MP camera, overall photography experience is good as it comes with lots of camera features except low light photography which is just average , it can also record 4k videos (3840 X 3160). Also Galaxy round do not have the S-pen.
The battery of the Galaxy Round is a bit less at 2,800 mAh which lasts for whole day.

SOFTWARE:

The Galaxy Round's comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean old Touch Wiz UI and expecting KIT-KAT upgrade in January,  comes pre-loaded  with  Google and Samsung apps like YouTube, Maps, Navigation, Search, S Health, S Voice, Drop box, and Trip Advisor, and also multi window, and for communication it comes with near-field communication, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. Motion gesture control tilts, swipes, air gestures, and eyeball-tracking and touch activities.

FINAL WORDS:

GALAXY ROUND is very good phone and is similar to GALAXY NOTE 3 both features and hardware .It  is also the first phone launched with flexible OLED display. The curved screen is better than traditional flat screen in some areas. I think device is bit over priced above $1000 and you are getting NOTE 3 under same price with some add-on features of the S-PEN but if you want to flaunt something fresh and new from the world of technology this is the device for you. Or you can also check other flat screen phablets like HTC ONE MAX and NOKIA LUMIA .
