Samsung S4 Mini Duos Review: classic phone with dual sim functionality

few months ago samsung launched S4 mini and now it brings S4 mini duos in the market, the specs of both phones(single sim & dual sim) are same, i.e., Dual-core 1.7 GHz Krait snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU and 1.5 Gb of RAM & Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS with 8 MP AF camera.  it comes with display size of 4.3  inch with qHD resolution which must be full hd display at that price point.

SOFTWARE(Display, Memory, Battery, camera)

The display has 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 540 x 960 pixels (~256 ppi ).The display is  good and you won't see the pixels with naked eyes. The device can play HD videos at 720p and 1080p without any lagging.

It has 8Gb internal storage with around 5 GB available to the user, it does have a MicroSD memory card slot which is below the battery which make not hot swappable and expandable upto 64GB via memory card and you cannot install apps on the SD card before you root the device. The battery backup is more than 1 day with moderate usage.

The rear camera is 8 MP with auto-focus which is performs very good in day light photos but in low light you will find some noise in the photo.

 The front camera is 1.9 MP which is for video chatting and video calling but the camera is good enough to do a HD video chatting or call.

HARDWARE(Build Quality & Design)

The new samsung S4 mini looks same as its single sim version and has nothing new to offer in design .it looks just same as of any other plastic phone you have seen from samsung galaxy series. This phone also have a glossy back cover with texture design make the device look more premium. The design is definitely inspired from Samsung S4 as it called the S4 Mini . The form factor of this phone is nice with weighing little over 100 grams( 107 gm) which make S4 mini one of the lightest smartphone to carry, the phone is of just right in size(if you are not comfortable with those 5 inch phones) so that it fits perfectly into your hand or pocket. the thickness of device is 8.9 mm which does make it thinnest and easy to hold and good for single hand operations.

VERDICT

S4 mini is very good phone which offers some good hardware and software and has good screen rather a decent one, it is more easy to use and portable to carry. The only thing which is low according to me is qHD resolution which could have been full HD specially at this price point of Rs. 24,690 but for those who are looking for mini version of s4 this one is a great buy to go for.
