Sony Xperia Z1 : A High Spec Camera Phone

Hardware:

Sony Xperia Z1, the successor of Xperia Z, taking the water resistance capability half meters deeper with add on of 20.9MP of camera. But this water resistance thing should be tested in fresh water only, mind you, not in sea water or else you will mug up things wrong way for sure.
The environmental protection comes courtesy of internal seals within the headphone jack (top-left), the loudspeaker, the power button, volume rocker and camera button (all three of which run along the right side). There are also plastic flaps over the SIM slot (just above the power button) and the micro SD slot and micro-USB / charging ports (both on the left side). These flaps are really improved when it comes to plugging in a charging cable.

All is not awesome though, the front (display) and the rear glass continue to attract pocket fluff as the xperia Z did. Both the sides have ability to attract little particles of fabric away from the clothing.
The loudspeaker also has an issue. If you hold the phone in landscape position and watch a video, the speaker press along your palm and makes impact on sound clarity. In term of size Z1 is larger in size(5 inches).

Display:
Xperia Z1 possess a screen of 5 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 along with pixel density of 441ppi. You are either gonna love it or hate it depending upon whats your criteria.

If you looks upon Viewing angles you are surely gonna hate it and but if u look upon sharpness and color reproduction you are surely gonna love it, that’s what SONY’s Triluminuous does, it thinks you will look your Phone directly watching movies instead of navigating android, But surely it has better color reproduction than samsung’s AMOLED technology.

Camera:
This review section hasn’t been the same since the launch of Lumia 1020. Every phone manufacturer is trying to catch up Nokia’s  (oops now Microsoft’s) PureView technology and thus Sony is no exception but Sony fails too, let it be number of megapixels (21million versus 41million) or let it be size of sensor (1/2.3 of an inch vs 1/1.5 of an inch) Moreover Z1 lacks Optical Image Stabilization(OIS).

But what’s impressive is down sampling ability of Z1, it downsample image of 21MP to 8MP.

Software:
There isn’t much to deal in this section for same neutral Sony skin that has become more familiar without ever inspiring any strong opinions. Sony sticks to basic in this section. such as seamlessly accessing local and cloud-stored pics from within the Album app, or providing plentiful opportunities for controlling power consumption -- without distracting too heavily from the cleanliness of stock Android. Depending on your outlook, you'd either call it "gimmick free" or "slightly dull."
There are things which deserves mention for sure, like latest software build , based on android 4.2.2, another gem in the throne is the ability to add 6 widgets that can be put in lockscreen, means you can access 6 apps like Gmail, google now and google+ without even unlocking the phone. Personization screen now lets you customize quick settings that are accessed from pull down notifications. More over there is more control over “small apps” that you can run in re-sizeable window on top of your home screens.

Performance and Battery Life:

It was the biggest disappointment section for Xperia Z, Partly it was its Snapdragon S4 Pro processor lacked oomph compared to next-gen Snapdragon 600-equipped phones like the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and HTC One, but the bigger problem was that the Xperia Z, with its aging chip and thirsty 1080p display, consumed too much power.
Fortunately SONY has seriously worked upon these issues.

The next-gen 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 (with 2GB of RAM) beats the Xperia Z's Snapdragon S4 Pro in all the main benchmarks. Sony's implementation of the Snapdragon 800 -- or its lack of tuning for benchmarks -- results in scores that don't always beat the Snapdragon 600 in the Samsung Galaxy S 4 by a huge margin, particularly in the case of SunSpider and CF-Bench. They're still great scores, however, and the Xperia Z1 was impeccably fluid in day-to-day use and at least on a par with other 2013 flagships in terms of app load times and other things we tend to notice.
The xperia Z1 lasts for a day on moderate usage along with camera usage. The time we managed to kill the battery within a day is 17hours that included one hour skype call over wifi.

Quick specs:

Conclusion:
The Z1 ticks all the main boxes for a cutting-edge Android flagship, with superb 20-megapixel stills being an added bonus. However, if you're looking for the very best cameraphone on the market, this isn't it.
